When creating a website, utilizing the description and tags sections are vital steps to make a profitable platform. As a content creator and strategist, these sections appear in my day to day life and can help my videos reach a wider audience. Karol Krol (2019) describes description and tags as tools in order to organize and find posts within a blog (pg. 51). Categories are as simple as they sound, being able to separate subtopics so website viewers can find specific information easier. For this blog about editing and graphic software, those 2 types of software would be separated by categories. Furthermore, each type of program could be categorized by free downloads, monthly subscriptions, and one-time payments.
As for tags, they can be easily referred to as keywords. When searching for anything online, the exact words chosen can give you varying results. In order to optimize a website to it’s best capabilities, adding the correct tags can better the chances the website has to be noticed and visited. It is recommended that blogs use anywhere from 15 to 100 total tags, 3 to 10 for a singular post. For this website, tags such as “video editing”, “free”, “software”, “graphic” and many others. Those tags can be seen as broad and generic, so as the blog starts to include more information, more specific tags can be listed.
