What I’ve Learned About Plugins

Plugins are an essential piece of a website, as they allow you to customize and optimize a website beyond the default capabilities. A plugin can enhance a website by using external features such as editing tools, site security, and social media sharing. Essentially, plugins make your website easier to navigate and better protected from outside issues or performance problems. When using a provider like WordPress, you should source your plugins from their search engine, but also by further researching the developers of the plugins.

When looking for plugins, someone should research what vulnerabilities the plugin would add to your website. WordPress can block installation of vulnerabilities occur, but the creator should be able to recognize issues before considering a plugin. If a plugin is added and the code is too confusing, it can cause performance issues within your website. To ensure stability and performance, searching for safe and easy plugins can easily make a website much more appealing.

Additional Plugin

For my additional plugin, I chose “Advanced Editor Tools” from the WordPress search. The tool is designed to enhance the block editor in posts and pages, making for a more visually attractive writing space. This was more of a personal choice as someone who would like more customization options in order to create an aesthetically pleasing page. I chose this plugin because it combines plugins that were similar to itself. The Gutenberg plugin pertains to the block editor, while the TinyMCE plugin is specific to the classic editor. However, Advanced Editor Tools “extends and enhances the block editor (Gutenberg) and the classic editor (TinyMCE).”
