Since I was creating from scratch, I could not rely on my old choices for the entirety of the website. This new WordPress site is about Video Production as a whole, so there are different plugins I should be looking at for certain areas. Despite the previous setup having success, there were necessary choices to be made for an even better end result.
1 – Duplicate Page
Duplicate Page is a plugin that I chose more for my own accessibility, less for the visitors. This plugin makes creating new pages and posts easier by saving time, as one click can create the same exact page again. Upon editing, I can use a previous page as template when separating categories or different topics. For example, if I were to show different Production companies’ results but wanted to separate them by company, I can duplicate the initial page to create a second one for the next company. Posts can also become simpler, as features such as status, redirection, and link cloning are accessible through Duplicate Page.
2 – Elementor
Elementor is a plugin that has all-around usage, from visitors to the owner. It advertises themselves as drag and drop website builder that requires no coding. The multiple features include a library of templates, more in-depth design tools, over 40 free widgets, and an overall easy design and theme builder. This can help the website look more appealing to visitors and to create new viewers. Having these abilities can make the owner’s job more efficient and create an eye-catching or accessible display of the website topic.
3 – WP File Manager
Similar to the Updraft Plus plugin that helps create backups, WP File Manager allows the owner to delete, edit, upload, and zip files together so they can be placed in the WordPress backend. Most of my choices are because of a website scare I had during this semester, so to avoid a potentially fatal error from happening again, I want to be extra precautionary about my next one. So, these website plugins can be the solution I was missing before. WP File Manager creates archives, has a built in code editor, checks syntax errors, and gives the creator the ability to control what files types are utilized.
